The Sanctuary is a renovated 1920s Lutheran Church that has been converted into a unique, eight-room boutique hotel. We worked hard to preserve the architectural interest and history of the building by exposing the beautiful wood rafters, featuring large gothic windows, and incorporating beautiful, salvaged pieces of stained glass to capture the streaming sunlight.
Our style is eclectic but comfortable. The Great Room has 30-foot ceilings with exposed rafters, hardwood floors, and comfortable leather couches in front of a 42” fireplace. Above is a spacious mezzanine that also has hardwood floors, plenty of window seats, a kitchenette/bar, and two large family-style dining tables. A lift makes it easy to access the mezzanine from the Great Room for those with limited mobility. Seating on a shady porch offers additional places to retreat and relax.
The main floor boasts three en-suite rooms with beautifully tiled bathrooms and unique individual designs. Downstairs, on the garden level, there are four additional en-suite rooms with heated floors throughout—and these rooms are pet-friendly. Every room on the main level and the garden level has an east or west facing window allowing for large amounts of natural light.
On the mezzanine you will find the Snuggery, our most unique and intimate room. The bed is nestled back into a nook among exposed rafters. While there are no outside-facing windows in the Snuggery, there are two tall windows that overlook the Great Room to allow for natural light streaming in through the building’s arched windows.
Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, and soap) and hair dryers provided in every room. Each room has a 42” TV and a mini-fridge. Coffee, tea, and snacks are provided on the mezzanine in the kitchenette.
